PT-141 is the research name commonly used for bremelanotide, a melanocortin receptor agonist.

Large randomised Phase 3 trials studied bremelanotide in premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder and found improvements in desire and related distress compared with placebo.
Is there an approved medicine related to PT-141?
Yes. Bremelanotide is the active ingredient in the US prescription medicine Vyleesi. A research-grade PT-141 product is not the same regulated medicine.
